FOREIGN CURRENCY
ACCOUNTS |
Pakistani individuals and
companies can open foreign currency accounts in Pakistan irrespective of their resident
status. Foreign nationals and companies can also open foreign currency accounts in
Pakistan without any prior approval from State Bank of Pakistan or any regulatory
authority.
Interest rates are extremely competitive
Transfer of funds from Oman to Pakistan are
free of transfer charges.
Principal and interest on foreign currency
accounts are free of taxation and Zakat applications
OIB also offers Pakistan rupee
overdraft/loan facility against your foreign currency accounts at very competitive rates.
Hold mail facility is also available on
request.
Balances in foreign currency accounts are
freely transferable abroad.
Foreign currency notes can also be
withdrawn.
Payments in Pakistan and abroad can also be
effected on your instructions.
Statements of accounts can be faxed on
request.

Interest is paid half yearly in June and
December on minimum balance held during each month. Cheque book facility is available.

Chequing Account in USD, interest is
calculated on daily balance. No forfeiture or loss of interest. Current minimum balance
requirement is USD 50000.
OIB offers the following types of notice /
Term deposits.
7 - days call and 30
- days call deposits.
3, 6, 12 and 24 months
fixed deposits.
Interest rates on deposits are the highest
allowed by the State Bank of Pakistan.
Accounts can be opened by Individuals and

Transfer of funds to your account
Your account can be fed by foreign currency notes, traveller's
cheques, telex transfer, mail transfer, demand drafts or cheques. Telex transfer is the
quickest and safest mode of transferring funds.
